Reports Basics
What are reports?
Reports are lists or summaries that allow you to aggregate and analyze your data in different ways.
What kind of reports are available?
Salesforce has standard, built-in reports; however, you can also create your own custom reports.

Who can run reports?
Users with the "Run Reports" permission can run reports. Users must also have access to the report folder (folders can be public, private, or accessible to select users). Administrators can set folder access or create new folders.
What data is visible on a report?
Data from standard and custom objects, as well as records and fields normally visible to the user running report.
How current is the data on a report?
New objects and fields are immediately available for reporting and reports always run in real time. When you save a report, you are saving the parameters, not the data.
Where can users access reports?
Users can access reports from the Reports tab, an object's home page, custom links on the sidebar, from a report's URL, and within a scheduled email.
